Querida Madre by Mariela Herrera, Grade 11
Querida Madre,
Me inspiras a hacer grandes cosas y nunca me decepsionas.

Dear Mother,
Thank you for creating my innermost being, for knitting me inside your womb like the very clothes I wear today and for giving me the love that I do not deserve. I cherish you and value you more than any treasure because you were made for me like I was made for you.
I thank you for the food you’ve made with your beautiful hands. Continuously managing to make miracles everyday with the very little scraps we had left. I thank you for caring for my siblings and me when we didn’t feel well. Nobody noticed whenever you were in pain because you kept strong. Always such selfless giving instead of getting and putting our needs before your very own. Although we’ve had our ups and downs in all this I know I am the most luckiest unluckiest person to ever live because you warm, clothe, feed, care, and rejuvenate me by never leaving my side and or my heart.
My dear mother, thank you isn’t enough to show how grateful I am to have you in my life. You inspire me to do great things and never seem to let me down. You mean the absolute most to me and I can’t imagine my life without you.
To me, my mother is the most important and dearest person in my life. We should all love and cherish our mothers by telling them what they mean to us.
To my mother, you’ve made it a life worth living.
